The Rows offer, as the name suggest, a row of shops, but with a staircase leading to a first floor with more shops, ideal for hopping in the rain as you are always undercover. Together with The Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet – whish is the UK’s largest; Chester is a very popular destination for groups of ladies wanting a weekend away.
For younger visitors, Chester Zoo is a must, it is the UK’ premier zoo, home to more than 11,000 animals and 400 different species, including one of the words best collection of elephants.
Chester and the surrounding area is a great place to visit for foodies, there are plenty of food festivals throughout the year including The Chester Food, Drink & Lifestyle Festival in April, held at the racecourse. There are also about 11 farmers markets held regularly throughout the area. Michelin star chef, Michael Caines has a restaurant on the 5th floor of the Abode which enjoys views across the city.
Chester also plays host to many other festivals throughout the year including The Chester International Film Festival, The Chester Wine Festival and The Chester Literature Festival. The Cheshire Country show is the largest country show in the northeast and attracts over 80,000 visitors.
