Stanhope Accommodation

Stanhope Group Accommodation

Group Accommodation in Stanhope

Stanhope is a small market town situated on the River Wear in County Durham. The area is a charming location for large groups wishing to get away from it all, either for a long weekend or a full week.

The town is surrounded by beautiful moorland which comprises the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The second largest of all the 40 AONBs in England and Wales, the scenery is gorgeous and well deserves the prestigious award.

For an enjoyable outing at the weekends, Stanhope is the terminus of the heritage Weardale Railway, which operates from Bishop Auckland and also has stations at Frosterley and Wolsingham.

The Durham Dales Centre is worth a visit, as it offers tourist information about the area, various craft shops and a tea room. Stanhope Castle dates back to the 18th century and stands in the town centre. The castle is believed to have been built on the site of a previous medieval castle.

Family and other large groups will appreciate the large holiday homes in the areas surrounding Stanhope. The choice of group accommodation can be browsed above on the House Parties website. If you can’t find exactly what you are seeking, please do not hesitate to contact us.
